2025 Year in Review

Innovation remains one of America’s greatest competitive advantages — and in 2025, the Congressional Inventions Project (CIP) continued working to ensure inventors and policymakers stayed connected at the center of that mission.

Throughout the year, CIP brought together Members of Congress, congressional staff, inventors, entrepreneurs, and policy leaders to highlight how strong intellectual property protections and pro-innovation policies support economic growth, technological leadership, and opportunity across the country.

Our 2025 Year in Review video captures the moments, milestones, and partnerships that defined the past year.

Advancing Innovation on Capitol Hill

In 2025, the Congressional Inventions Project expanded its engagement with lawmakers and staff through briefings, educational events, and direct conversations with inventors whose work reflects the strength of America’s innovation ecosystem.

By connecting policymakers with real inventors and real-world innovation stories, CIP helps ensure legislative discussions are grounded in the experiences of those creating new technologies, building businesses, and driving economic progress.

Celebrating American Inventors

A cornerstone of CIP’s work is elevating inventors’ voices in Washington. Over the past year, CIP hosted and supported events that showcased innovation across industries — from emerging technologies and advanced manufacturing to healthcare and consumer products.

These gatherings provided opportunities for innovators to share their stories directly with policymakers and demonstrate how intellectual property protections make invention possible.

Strengthening the Innovation Ecosystem

The Congressional Inventions Project continued advocating for policies that:

  • Promote strong and reliable intellectual property rights
  • Encourage investment in research and development
  • Support entrepreneurship and startup growth
  • Maintain America’s global leadership in innovation

At a time of rapid technological change and global competition, ensuring inventors have the certainty and protections needed to innovate remains more important than ever.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As CIP looks toward the coming year, our mission remains clear: foster collaboration between inventors and policymakers and promote policies that empower innovation to thrive.

We are grateful to the Members of Congress, partners, inventors, and supporters who made 2025 a successful year — and we look forward to building on this momentum in 2026.
